Beginning To Write

This introduction to creative writing explores a range of topics, from character and plot development to voice and style. Through writing exercises and examples from literature, participants will develop an awareness of various poetic and literary tools and techniques, and become more comfortable putting pen to paper to express themselves creatively. This class provides space for the beginning writer to share their work in a supportive workshop environment, and is suitable for writers working in all forms (poetry, drama, fiction, etc.).

Hi,
I am interested in taking one of your courses, however, I am currently unemployed. Do you happen to have a reduced rate for unemployed people?
Thank you,

Hi there,
I know this is only a new setup and you're probably just focusing on short term projects like the workshop dates for the next year. However, I was just wondering, will there be courses in Creative Writing and maybe Non-Fiction Writing in Winter 2010?

Thanks,

gracespoint@hotmail.co.uk

Hi There,
Thanks for your query.
Yes! We'll be posting our course schedule for the first term in 2010 (beginning in January) in a few weeks. Look for the schedule around the 1st of November.
There will be plenty of courses on offer. We don't have a course planned in January that would be specifically non-fiction but all of our Beginning to Write, Beyond Beginners and advanced workshops would support anyone interested in writing non-fiction.
We have been planning a course that would cover writing memoir sometime in the Spring and there are other non-fiction type courses being developed for 2010.
I hope this was helpful- if you have more specific questions or would like to chat about what course would suit you please feel free to give us a ring at 086 086 3646 or email us anytime.
The Big Smoke Team
